What to Expect at Your Campus Orientation

You’ll get started by exploring campus and checking off all the must-dos before classes begin. We’ve got you covered—advisors, financial aid, athletic staff, student life coordinators and faculty will all be around to help you and answer any questions. Don’t forget to grab your student ID, find your classrooms and swing by the Cougar store for some fresh college apparel and supplies. It’s all part of making sure you’re set for day one at NICC. This is the final step in your semester prep—Welcome to the Cougar family!

Remember: Orientation is mandatory for certain programs. Knowing where to find help improves your chances of success in college and beyond.

Orientation FAQs

Yes, students who took NICC classes in high school are still expected to attend New Student Orientation.

New students are required to attend the New Student Orientation, which takes place on the same day as their Program Orientation. Currently enrolled students who need to attend their Program Orientation should only attend at the designated time for that Program Orientation.

Parents and support people are also an important part of your journey as a new student. They aren’t required to attend, but we’d love for them to join you. We even have orientation sessions specific to them!

You will be registered for a campus orientation once you meet with your adviser and enroll in your first semester classes.

It is best to check with your academic advisor to confirm which orientation you should attend. View the list of dates here.
