Northeast Iowa Community College Business and Community Solutions offers specialized training for a variety of professionals seeking licensure, relicensure or recertification. Courses are offered in several formats to make license renewal and recertification affordable and easy to complete with your busy schedule.
Coaching Authorization
This 55-hour course fulfills all Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) requirements to apply for a coaching license and be legally employed as a coach of any interscholastic athletic activity in Iowa K-12 schools. This hybrid course is completed online and two face-to-face sessions.
Topics include coaching theory, ethics and legal responsibilities, human growth and development, structure and function of the human body, prevention and care of injuries, and CPR certification. Search Coaching Courses.
Cosmetology
Salon owners, barbers and stylists can stay on top of the latest styles and trends while completing license renewal requirements at Northeast Iowa Community College. Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing
Northeast Iowa Community College works with the Iowa Electrical Examining Board (IEEB) and the Iowa Plumbing and Mechanical Systems Board (IPMSB) to ensure electrical, HVAC and plumbing courses meet license renewal requirements. ServSafe® Certification
ServSafe® Food Protection Manager training is designed for restaurants and food service managers. Training can be completed in one day and concludes with a certification exam. Passing the exam qualifies you to be ServSafe® Certified for five years by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation (NRAEF). Search ServSafe Courses.
Insurance, Real Estate and Financial
Northeast Iowa Community College partners with Community Educators to provide face-to-face classes for insurance professionals. The College hosts annual training events in Calmar and Dubuque.
The College also partners with WebCE to provide quality and affordable online training year-round directly to your home or office. Training is flexible, you can choose the individual course you need or build a course package that fits all of your renewal requirements.
- Insurance topics include life/health, property/casualty, adjuster, crop and annuity.
- Real Estate topics include ethics, regulations, communications, professional practices and specialized services.
- Financial Planning certification topics include CFP board ethics, general financial planning principles, and retirement savings and income planning.
- Tax and Accounting topics include enrolled agent ethics, tax law updates and Form 1040 tax CPE.
- Funeral Service Practitioners will find a wide selection of online state-approved funeral continuing education courses.
Used Auto Dealers
If you have a used motor vehicle license and wish to retain it, you must take a five-hour refresher course within 24 months before submitting an application for renewal. Used Auto Dealer courses are held at Northeast Iowa Community College every two years at a variety of locations throughout northeast Iowa. Search Auto Dealer Courses.
