Sports Shooting team misses against Iowa Central Community College in home meet

The NICC student athletes will next face Hawkeye Community College at home on Oct. 12, at Turkey Valley Trap Range in Jackson Junction.
JACKSON JUNCTION, Iowa— The Northeast Iowa Community College Sports Shooting lost in a close shootout at home against Iowa Central Community College, 479-420, on Oct. 5.
NICC athletes competing included: Nathan Breska, of Arcadia, Wis.; Anthony Gossling, Calmar; Kaylie Klimesh, Calmar; Tanner Lane, New Hampton; Jack Nelson, Peosta; Dillon Sanders, Montezuma; Chetanya Shivakumar, of Bangalore, India; and Faith Ubersox, of Shullsburg, Wis.

NICC athletes and head coach Anthony Sisneros agreed that weather conditions at the meet were far from optimal.
“I was cold the entire time, but it was a lot of fun,” remarked Kaylie Klimesh.
“Once again we were battling the weather. Our student athletes shot their best considering the cold and rain. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to defeat a tough Iowa Central team. On a positive note, our new athletes keep improving each competition,” Sisneros added.
