CYLINDER, Iowa—The Northeast Iowa Community College Sports Shooting team dropped its second meet of the season to Iowa Lakes Community College on Sept. 18 at Palo Alto Gun Club at Sportsman's Park in Cylinder, Iowa.
NICC athletes competing in the event were Zach Schroeder and Alex Zweibohmer. The low turnout for the NICC squad resulted in a loss by a large margin, 139-456.
“Even though we didn’t have the greatest turnout from our team, it was still a great time and learning experience,” stated Zweibohmer.
Anthony Sisneros, head coach, knows that the team needs to be a full strength to compete.
“With our sport being as competitive as it is, it takes the whole team to earn a victory. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good turnout, as many of our student athletes couldn’t make it to the competition this weekend, but the two that represented NICC did their best to put up some good scores,” he said.
The next meet is Sept. 25 at Indian Hills Community College.
