The NICC team’s final two meets of the fall season will be at home, versus Hawkeye Community College on Oct. 15 and Southeastern Community College on Oct. 16.
JACKSON JUNCTION, Iowa—The Northeast Iowa Community College Sports Shooting team fell to Iowa Central Community College at its Oct. 2 home meet, 432-491.
NICC student athletes competing in the event included Nathan Breska, of Arcadia, Wis., 92; Alex Zweibohmer, Decorah, 88; Tracer Tollefsrud, of Canton, 87; Zach Schroeder, Elgin, 84; Alex Digman, Earlville, 83; Wilson Ihm, Platteville, Wis., 82; and Drew King, of Marshalltown, 70.
The NICC athletes posted improved scores from the previous meet, but the team had its work cut out for them against Iowa Central, said head coach Anthony Sisneros. “It was great to see some of our student athletes improve their scores from last week. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to beat a tough Iowa Central team,” he said.
Athlete Zack Schroeder saw consistent performances from the team and enjoyed a home meet for a change. “It was great to have the entire team there. We all shot really well and it was nice to shoot at home,” Schroeder said.
