Northeast Iowa Community College Seeks New Trustee for District 9

The Northeast Iowa Community College Board of Trustees announces a vacancy in the District 9 Trustee position.

NORTHEAST IOWA—The Northeast Iowa Community College Board of Trustees announces a vacancy in the District 9 Trustee position due to the resignation of Bob Shafer, of Dubuque, effective Aug. 1, 2023. Shafer currently serves as board vice president.

A committee of Trustees will interview persons interested in appointment to represent District 9.  Persons interested in the appointment must be residents of District 9, which represents Dubuque Community School District.

Anyone living in District 9 who is interested in appointment to the Board should contact the NICC Board Secretary, Heather Groth, at 844.642.2338, ext. 1145. The deadline for applications is Aug 1. Interviews with potential candidates are planned for the week of Aug. 7, and an appointment is expected to be made at the Aug. 21, Trustee meeting. The person appointed by the board will serve until the November 2023 school board election and would be eligible to run in that election.
