The championships offer NICC athletes a great opportunity to compete against a completely different line-up of opponents and come together as a team, said Head Coach Anthony Sisneros.
“Regional competitions are usually a good test for our team by giving our student athletes the opportunity to compete not only with a different range but against other teams that we normally would not compete against. The trip was also a great bonding experience for the team,” Sisneros said.
“I had a great time, and I'm sure everyone else in the crew had a great time as well. I'll definitely remember this weekend for sure,” stated NICC athlete Ty Kenan.
“We had a great time shooting against new teams! Always fun car rides to and from. Plus, we got to see the very tall bridge in St. Louis,” added Hailey Elsbernd.
The team’s final meet of the season is Oct. 21 in Waukee at the 2023 Iowa Collegiate Clay Target Championships. For more information about the Sports Shooting team at NICC, visit www.nicc.edu/sportsshooting.
