Lexi Wagner named Northeast Iowa Community College vice president of finance and administration

NORTHEAST IOWA–Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Executive Director of Finance Lexi Wagner has been named the new vice president of finance and administration. The Board of Trustees approved her promotion in its meeting on Sept. 16. Wagner replaces the position created after the Board named Dave Dahms interim president last month.

Wagner joined NICC in 2017 and managed the accounting and finance responsibilities for the finance department. She started as a financial accountant and earned a promotion to director of finance. Through active succession planning and department growth, Wagner was named executive director of finance in June 2022.

“The last few years I have continued my mentorship and succession planning with Lexi and she has grown into the responsibilities of general college management and long-term decision-making. I look forward to Lexi’s continuing leadership and service for the College as a vice president,” Dave Dahms, NICC interim president, said.

Wagner holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in accounting from UNI and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure. The new vice president has extensive expertise in community college accounting and financial reporting requirements, as well as a solid understanding of the College’s financial and operational structure.
