Online & Distance Learning
Northeast Iowa Community College offers students the opportunity to earn their degree online or take online courses in most subject areas. Online courses are delivered through the Brightspace by D2L learning environment and teach the same content, and require the same amount of work, as our traditional face-to-face courses. The only difference, depending on course delivery method, is lectures, group discussions, homework and tests are all completed online. Online students have access to the same resources as our on-campus students, including tutoring, one-on-one advising, counseling and more.
Northeast Iowa Community College is ranked #5 among Iowa’s community colleges for the variety of online degree programs it offers, and their retention and graduation rate, by the higher education research organization Optimal™.
Students who enroll in online classes have the option of taking traditional full-semester length classes or a condensed 8-week class schedule with multiple start dates throughout the year.
