Emerging Leaders Certificate Program
The Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) Student Emerging Leader Certificate Program is designed to provide students the opportunity to develop leadership tactics that will build on current skills and foster new abilities employers are seeking. Students are nominated by the faculty and staff of Northeast Iowa Community College. The program aims to help seasoned student leaders refine their leadership skills and to assist new and emerging leaders in developing the knowledge and skills they need to make a difference at Northeast Iowa Community College and beyond.
Students who complete the program will receive a non-credit certificate indicating completion of the program which will enhance their professional resume.
The program includes five, 1 hour leadership seminars during the College common hour and a closing retreat at Camp Ewalu in Strawberry Point, Iowa (transportation provided). There is no outside work required only active participation.
There is no cost for nominated students.
Earn your Emerging Leaders Certificate
Nomination. A current Northeast Iowa Community College faculty or staff must nominate a student to the program.
Registration. Students must register and will be notified by the Student Life Office to complete registration prior to first session in January.
Participation. Attendance and participation in all seminars is required to receive the Emerging Leaders certificate.
